1. I live in South Dakota and have been here about 19 years now. I'm originally from Cape Cod, and have also lived in Louisiana, Nebraska and Texas.
2. I'm probably rather unusual for an American these days in that I've been with the same woman for about twenty years. I don't do short-term relationships.
3. Although I am Caucasian, I have always had a very strong interest in Asian cultures, especially those of China and Tibet. I have often felt that I would have been more comfortable if I had been born into an oriental culture and I think Asian women are the most beautiful women in the world.
4. In my experience there isn't much in this world that a pot of fine tea won't fix, or at least improve temporarily.
5. I am a poet and a philosopher and something of a hermit. People always come to me and tell me their troubles -- I guess because I like to be alone they think I must know something.
6. I believe the most important thing in the world is kindness.
7. I have 2,500 books, some new, some used...
